The UK Department of Health is currently looking at the possibility of implementing statutory regulation for Ayurvedic practitioners, possibly by 2011. If this happens a statutory council will be set up that will require all practitioners to meet specific qualification standards. It is likely that the current APA qualification standards will not be deemed sufficient by the future council.
